Red Cross “Stars” Put on Their Dancin’ Shoes for a Good Cause

Nate-&-DebbieThe stars were out in Portsmouth, Ohio, this spring as the Ohio River Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross hosted its first “Dancing with Our Stars” – an event where local “celebrities” were tasked with showing off their best dance moves, all while raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

Ten local stars were paired with professional and semiprofessional dancers from the area and given the challenge of both showing off their fancy footwork in front of a live audience and collecting the most $1 dollar votes for their efforts.

The star dancer who collected the most votes won the coveted Champion Trophy.  A People’s Choice award was given the evening of the show to the dancing couple that collected the most popular votes during the event.

The Champion Trophy was awarded to Amy Hassel and her partner Dr. Jon Turjoman for raising the most money and the People’s Choice Award was given to Dr. Nathan Bennington and his partner Debbie Kielmar.
